I was being silly (and inspecific) in my artist post and I realized it wasn’t very clear unless you know me now, real-life; the artwork I linked is Alex’s, my kid’s. I’m as impressed as Hell by his work. (And I’m sure some of it’s for sale, for any art-loving dixiblog readers :mrgreen:)

on the other hand, the purely amatuer pix and digital image manipulations are mine.

Happpy Birthday (with so much fun, it takes 3 “p’s” in Happy) to my wonderful pal, Julie. Quoted recently, Julie asserted that 41 isn’t that much of a big deal, since we’ve passed the big 4-0.

Julie’s sweet little kitty, Celia, has also been ill recently, so please send your good thoughts and energy their way, dixiblog readers.

We’re in the grocery store, doing a shitload of shopping. She starts to complain about getting tired.

“What? You’re tired? Please, kid. You’re young! You should be running circles around my 41-year-old ass. Or forty-wonderful, as my friend Em says.”

“She really says that? She said forty-wonderful?”

“Yeah! I think it’s great! Don’t you?” A flash her a big smile.

She sighs. “Forget it, Mom. There’s just no point….” I’m laughing now. She shakes her head and says, “You’re an odd duck.”

I quack. Then we decide where to get lunch.

I appreciate right now!

• Watching the squirrels in my back yard. I have a great view form my home-office window. There are 4 or 5 of ‘em out there right now, running around in that squirrel way they have.
• Good days. I’ve had an exceptionally good day. Work was smooth; I got lots of stuff done; I was able to help some folks out. This morning, I decided I would have a good day. Sometimes, I forget to decide that. I think I’ll make an effort to remember.
• This very minute. Today, now, right here. Every possiblity exists in this moment, you know? Right now, I’m alive. I’m thinking, feeling and creating my world. The point of power is ALWAYS now, and I appreicate the point of power.

Dixiblog readers may have noticed the lack of content being churned out here recently. Well, ya got me! I haven’t been writing as much as I normally do.

Essentially, I’ve been involved with a number of projects and circumstances, and haven’t had as much time as normal. (more…)

I have been spotting my little hummingbirds whenever I go out to drink my coffee on the front porch. They are VERY hard to photogragh, since the little suckers are FAST! Damn.  But I did manage to get one halfway decent pic with my “real” camera, so here it is…
