Hummingbird fan? Uh…Sort of…I’ve had to run this little fella off a few times now (and I moved that chair).

 

3 things I’m thankful for today:

• Fresh starts in whatever form they appear–sometimes ugly at first. But sometimes, starting over is healthy and always, there are good things you can find and take with you no matter WHAT the situation.
• Calculators. Wouldn’t life suck without calculators?
• Hugs, given at the right time with the right feeling behind them–the most valuable gift there is.

The Rock According to Oskar internet radio show airs tonight, 7:30pm Central (until about 10pm).

It’s a great show, and well worth a listen!  Oskar (aka Jack) is my uber-cool brother-in-law. So if you can, tune in, dixiblog readers! You’ll be glad you did.

The hummingbirds found my new feeder! Kidlet told me there was one out there, so I hopped on and took a couple snapshots. Here are a couple of shots of my little friends from this morning, via hummingbird cam…

This completely made my morning. Also, it was reported that Jules, my little black cat, was absoultely FASCINATED with monotoring bird activity from the window.

I’m having a great “Goddess Day.” I’ve had a good Goddess Week, for that matter. I’m happy.

Last night, we got to go out with “the gang.” Some family and friends (who are also friends and family, respectively) met us for a night out, and it didn’t come a moment too soon. I was ready for a night out. I ordered my one present, and got a few gifts from folks, and have been getting books and such, too. So the present and celebratory functions of Goddess Day have been honored.

I’m feeling reflective, as I often will, but I don’t feel like working it out yet, so that will be later. Happy Goddess Day to all!

I got my hummingbird feeder all set up, and it’s in front of the (private) webcam, so I may be able to grab some pix if there are still any little hummers around to try it out. You can also see it through the window (and so can the cats.)

Well, here’s what I’m getting for my birthday. I picked it out: a light/sound machine. there are lights, binaural beats, and various techniques designed to help you meditate and stimulate various brain wave patterns.

This one, the “InnerPulse”, contains over 50 pre-programmed sessions for different purposes, plus another set of sessions to help train yourself in different methods of yoga breathing. it also plays “audiostrobe” material, meaning i can run a speical kind of meditation cd, and it will sync the light activity with the sounds there.

you can also adjust the glasses i got to emphasis brain stimulation of one hemisphere or another. so if you need to be more logical, stimulate your left brain. if you want to be more creative, focus on the right brain.

It should come in sometime next week.
