my mom’s technolically-impaired version of call waiting
I was talking to my mom today, on her cell phone. She’s saying something, as much to herself as anybody else.
“Oh, it’s clicking. That beep-beep noise. I think that means somebody’s trying to call me.”
“Oh. Do you need me to get off the phone, Mom?” I ask.
“No,” she says. “I’ve got call waiting but I don’t know how to work it anyway. They’ll call back.”
“So your version of call waiting means they have to wait until you’re off the phone to call you back?”
She said it was.
