• Tarot Journal - Justice

JusticeI just started a cool little free online tarot class, here. It’s 8 weeks, and for the last lesson, I wrote about Tarot journaling. (We had to talk about an alternate use for the Tarot.) But anyway, I enjoyed doing it, and reading the other student’s answers.

So anyway, I figured since I’m in the class and all, I might try a little tarot journaling. I pulled Judgement.

    Impressions:

    • Fairness
    • Equality, but not sameness
    • Libras
    • Thinking through the issues logically. (The sword-swords are associated with the element air, which is likewise associated with intellectual pursuits. Yellow in this deck also is associated with intellect.)
    • Judging on the present, and not that past.

Hey. I think we might have something with the last one…I’ve noticed lately that I sometimes react emotionally to past incidents when something triggers the memory. Do you do that? I dunno. Maybe everybody does, to some degree or other.

But it frustrates me. I don’t like it when I find myself doing it. And I think maybe it’s about the idea of reading the current situation, and not reading other issues into it.

Well, ok. So everything that happens is the sum of your experience, for good or bad, and so, it (rightly) becomes a part of your decision-making process. Ok.

But you know…what about changes? There are changes, you know. We all want the chance to improve sometimes. To try again. To make something different or better…what’s making informed choices, and what’s holding on to the past? I don’t want to live in the past, after all.

Maybe an integral part of the idea of justice–and to me, justice implies balance, with the scales and all–but anywho, maybe an integral part of the idea of justice itself is to be willing to reevaluate based on the circumstances and be open to whatever information reaveals itself.

Hmmm. OK. Something to think about.
