Conversations with the Kidlet Series: The “Cheesy Fry Queen”

Kidlet made some Cheesy Fries. She loves the deep fryer. I’m having some with her, and we’re discussing the excellent quality of her cheesy fries. “These are good,” I say.

“No, they’re great!” she corrects me.

“They’re very good, but my fries are very good, too.”

“They’re pretty good,” she again corrects me.

“What? What? Pretty good?!”

“Yeah, compared to mine. They’re pretty good. I am the Cheesy Fry Queen.” (more…)

Bye Merc RX!

MercuryFinally, it’s time for this particularly troublesome Merc RX period to end. Yay! Evidently, the planet pileup in the sign of Scorpio was supposed to add some serious extra punch to the situation this time around. With lots of activity in Scorpio, you can expect transformations of all kinds. Think the Pheonix. Death and rebirth. Transformation! Losing what weighs you down, and replacing it with that which serves you. That’s Scorpio energy. Add a little Mercury, trickster energy into the mix and the overall confusions, snafu’s and miscommunications, and you’ve got a confusing mess there for a little while.

At any rate, I am always relieved to see Merc Retro to end. I’m sure some folks think I’m a superstitious loon, but I don’t care. Maybe  I am. I just know I have fewer issues crop up when Mercury goes direct.

Peace out, kiddos.

damn…

When you ass passes out at 8:30pm or so, you wake up early. Really freakin’ early.

In Memory…

In memory of Zeno (pictured top) who passed away a year ago. Zeno was a big, dumb, lovable, easy-going, funny, sweet cat. He could jump 5 feet in the air and chase his tail forever. If you leaned over, sometimes he’d hop on your back for a little ride. He’d let you hug him for as long as you wanted, and often, he’d purr just because he was lying down next to you. He was one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever met.

We miss you, Zeno.

Love those Kitties...
I’m very, very, very sorry you’re gone…I love you, Zeno.

How to Save a Wet Cell Phone - WikiHow

How to Save a Wet Cell Phone - WikiHow

“Ever dropped your cell phone in the sink, or even worse the toilet? Did you ever leave it in your pocket and run it through the washer? It usually means you have to replace your phone, but sometimes if you’re fast you can save the phone.”

Feed Or Bleed?

Elsa ElsaI read Elsa’s Astrology Advice column. I don’t always agree with Elsa’s take, although often I do, and even when I don’t, I get something out of her insights. She packs a punch and tries to use it for good.

So, you know. :)

Recently, she was responding (I think this was it–may be a different question, though), but I’m thinking, it was one of the frequent “How do I get my beloved to do what I want?” questions. (The short answer to that question in Goddess’s Advice category–You don’t. End of sentence.)

But anyway, the question she suggested to ask about your relationships hit home to me. Does this person feed you or bleed you? If you stop and think a minute, just about every relationship you have will predominantly fall on one side or the other of this simply dichotomy. (more…)

today…

i’d planned to write something more entertaining, but i’ve been a bit under the weather. extra sleeping. i’ll come back soon and write some more.

peace and good vibes out to my friend, j.–her darling kitty, celia, passed this weekend. celia was a very, very sweet kitty and much loved. thinking of you.

Monkey Bites ipod backup…

if you’ve got an ipod and don’t know how to get your files out to put on your computer, here’s some ideas in the comments on this blog post…

Monkey Bites
On Windows, I simply enable viewing of hidden files and can get to the music files by going to the directory where they are stored (you’ll see a new directory show up that was previously hidden). The files and folders themselves are renamed in some weird filenaming convention (likely to conserve space), but when you import them back into iTunes, it names the files according to their ID3 tags.
