Har!

I’m having a pretty good Xmas season this year. I worked a lot–and therefore got a couple extra paychecks. I’m enjoying my family and I’m pretty damn happy overall. I’ve got a lot to be thankful for, I know.

One thing I’ve noticed as I’ve been out and about–people seem to be in a pretty good mood, this Christmas. (Well, most people…snort!) But you know–the stores were packed, but people were pleasant and friendly. The lines were long, but you might chat with the person next to you. People tried to help each other find things. An old guy was singing Christmas carols with the music broadcast in the grocery store.

I dunno. It was nice is all.

I went on an impromptu shopping trip with my friend E. a couple of days ago, and that was great fun, and we had coffee at the place all the cool kids go. I even bought myself a couple of presents.

One of the things I got was an appointment planner. Not because I have so many appointments. Thank Holy God Almighty, man. Shit.

See, I am planning to keep the datebook as a written kind of gratitude journal. I mean, what could be better than starting your day thinking about something or other you’re happy about?
