Ok, it’s time for my thrice-yearly merc rx alert…for the uninitiated, that means that Mercury appears to be moving backwards in the sky, from our Earthly vantage point. It’s called a retrograde, also designated as “rx”. Astro-believers see this as a time for all things ruled by Mercury–namely communications, siblings, short trips, etc.–to go a little haywire.

So if this stuff bores you to tears and provides yet another reason you think I’m insane, you might want to skip the rest of this post. Har!

Standard Merc Rx Rules apply:

• Try to put plans in motion before the rx starts. (See countdown in right sidebar for timing.)
• Doublecheck schedules, plans, written agreements, etc.
• Avoid starting new projects, but do go back to older projects. Finish something you put off or never completed. Reveiw, rewind, redo.
• Look internally and backward, as opposed to externally and forward, for your answers.
• Don’t sweat it. Sit back, and let it happen. Let go, and you’ll find the disruption to your life is minimum.

This current rx is a bit different, because we’ve got some Uranus activity as well. From Aquarium Age:

“The good news is there’s nothing pernicious about Mercury Retrograde, unless of course you’re an “A-Type” in a hurry to get everything done yesterday. And here’s the better news for those aggressive, got to get “it” done today types—this Mercury Retrograde isn’t likely to cramp your style. Uranus drives most of the action for the next couple of weeks and that means even a Retrograde won’t slow things down too much. What’s more, this retrograde could provide all sorts of surprises, especially visitations from the past, friends as well as lovers.”

So look for blasts from the past, hold on to your patience, and allow extra travel time. That’s a fairly do-able prescription, dontcha think?
