Extended Birthday Gifts for Goddess
Yesterday, I got my butterfly bushes that I ordered. I think these are the colors I got. I’m sure on the red one, but not so sure on the pinkish one, because I can’t remember.  I read someplace to plant two colors close together and they will wind around each other and looked cool, so I’m gonna try it. The red I picked as it should be a favorite for hummingbirds as well as butterflies and the other one was on sale. I planted them and doused ‘em in Miracle Grow. I don’t know if they will bloom this year or next, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy them whenever they do.

I’ve enjoyed this gradual birthday thing.
I’ve got various gifts coming in the mail for another week or two, here and there. It’s kind of fun. On my birthday, I got myself a nice digital photo frame, which I’d been wanting to try for a long time. It’s very nice, and will play photos, of course, along with MP3s and AVIs, which I haven’t tried. But I will.
I have a Roomba (!) coming–something else on sale and got good reviews–and some inexpensive but highly-rated speakers for my Ipod. And some sweatpants and shirts from Old Navy, some cinamon fragerance oil and a purse with beauty samples from Bath and Bodyworks, and a camera tripod from NewEgg. (Hummingbirds: watch out! You will be photographed. I also think the butterfly bushes will make an excellent photo op.)
I did have a nice birthday. I was tired at the end, and we didn’t even really go out to eat, because I didn’t want to. Instead, we got some Yello Sub, which is a carb-splurge for me, and after Bailey went to bed, Chip and I watched some “Cheaters” on the DVR. I was pleased with it and did feel appreciated, so that’s the big thing.
