Gingerbread House
Kidlet and I made a gingerbread house today. Ended up working on it way longer than we’d realized, and had a blast. She was even able to overcome some of her genetic tendencies towards OCD-type behavior (NOT from me, by the way) and put some of the candy on the house without making sure there was a consistent color pattern rotation in some cases. Har!
At first, we thought it might look like a 3-year-old barfed the day after Halloween, but we ended up deciding it looked like the work of a pyscho clown on acid. Either way, we had a delightful time building it.

That is gorgeous! Much much nicer than any gingerbread house we’ve ever created. Our roof always ends up sliding off and half the candy gets eaten before it gets on the house.

Who lives in the little gingerbread house?

Well, the gingerbread people, of course! The boy gb man is called “Rude-Off” as in “Rude/Flip Off” as he fancies himself a rebel and has to overcompensate for his cute, frosting hairdo; the gb chick is called “Snowina” because she loves that frosting snow. That’s why she’s a little tubby. But Rude-off doesn’t care.

This one came out better than usual for us, too, Em. We discovered More candy + cake frosting gear helped make it a lot easier…I think we’re going to start making it one of our holiday traditions…
