Well, this week hasn’t turned out quite the way I planned. Is anybody but me surprised?

There were lots of car issues; mine is in the shop again. The mechanic thinks it’s a cracked head gasket. This after replacing the radiator last week. But our mechanic is a good guy, and I know he’ll do what he can for me to keep things as reasonable as possible. I should get word in a day or so what the verdict is.

Jules ears look a little better today. Since the Neosporin wasn’t really helping, I quit putting it on and now it’s much easier to keep them clean without the sticky goo to attract every piece of fuzz she runs accross. She also tolerates me cleaning them with a washcloth and warm, soapy water better than the Neosporin routine, so it’s easier to take care of her. It’s not clear how much of her ears she’ll end up losing yet, but the edges off the right ear for sure and more than that from the left. So they will be irregularly shaped and different sizes, but it won’t impact her health. She also does not seem to be in any particular discomfort anymore, so I’m very grateful for that. Seeing her in pain was by far the worst part of her entire accident. She also was a total champ at the vet’s office the other day.

Stinker is looking for a job, and I took her up to apply for one yesterday. She’s making a good effort, so here’s to it paying off in spades–well, okay, paying off in job offers, I guess–posthaste! Got her old car running; that was a chore, but I did it myself, so I was proud! It needs a little work, but it will have to wait until mine is back from the shop, since it’s currently my wheels until we get things squared away.

Catching up on work. I wasn’t really behind, but some stuff came in and with life’s distractions, it just wasn’t happening. So my purge plans for taking off my birthday week didn’t exactly happen. But I’m still making progress on things.

And that, I guess, is good enough. Eh?
